We are a dedicated team of volunteers committed to protecting Pleasant Township and the greater Sweetser area. Day or night, rain or shine — we are here when you need us.
For over five decades, the Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Department has stood as a pillar of safety for Sweetser, Indiana, and the surrounding rural communities. What began as a handful of concerned neighbors has grown into a well-trained, dedicated team of 40+ volunteers.
Our station at 498 W Delphi Road serves as both our headquarters and our home — a place where neighbors become teammates, and where the call to serve is answered without hesitation.
Beyond emergency response, we offer a range of programs designed to keep our community safe and informed.
Structural fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, and search-and-rescue operations across Pleasant Township.
Free safety inspections for homes, businesses, and community buildings. We check smoke detectors, fire exits, and help you develop an escape plan.
School visits, fire prevention workshops, CPR classes, and station tours for children and adults. Safety starts with knowledge.
Specialized equipment and trained personnel for rural fire suppression, grass fires, and brush control throughout the township.
Annual open house, National Night Out participation, fire truck displays, and fundraising events that bring the community together.
Ongoing investment in modern apparatus, protective gear, and continuous training to ensure the highest standard of emergency care.
Being a volunteer firefighter isn't just a role — it's a way of life. Our members come from all walks of life: farmers, teachers, tradespeople, and retirees. What unites them is a deep commitment to the community they call home.
Whether you're responding to calls, maintaining equipment, organizing fundraisers, or mentoring new recruits — every contribution matters. We welcome people with or without experience. Training is provided.
We are always looking for dedicated individuals to join our team. No prior experience is necessary — we provide full training. Whether you can commit full-time or just a few hours a month, your time makes a real difference.
